A nurse-midwife is a healthcare professional who provides care to women throughout their pregnancy, labor and delivery, as well as providing gynecological care. They are trained in both nursing and midwifery, which means they have expertise in prenatal care, childbirth, postpartum care, and newborn care. Nurse-midwives also provide family planning services, including contraception and sterilization procedures. In addition to their clinical skills, nurse-midwives also focus on educating patients about their health and wellness throughout the different stages of a woman's life.
