An
"economy ticket" refers to a type of ticket you can purchase for travel, which is usually less expensive compared to other ticket options. It usually comes with basic amenities and less flexibility compared to higher-priced tickets.

economy tickets become more valuable in some cases.
There is no minimum mileage for short domestic flights, so you'll get very little for a
budget economy ticket on a domestic flight!
Compare the price of a
basic economy ticket plus a checked bag fee and the higher - priced coach ticket.
So if you were looking to book a
roundtrip economy ticket, picking up this card would quickly get you what you needed in terms of miles.
If you're flexible with your travel dates, AAdvantage miles offer the best value
for economy tickets during the off season.
Also, international flights and business / first class tickets will almost always give you more value per point than a
domestic economy ticket.
In other words, you're going to be paying multiples of the
cheapest economy ticket just to get a ticket that you can upgrade.
When you purchase a Y or B class full -
fare economy ticket you can receive instant upgrades to business / first.
That's because for the most part airlines require you to purchase a more
expensive economy ticket, and you're still limited by availability.
