Here, we address these challenges, using a de Bruijn graph comparison of clinical isolate and curated knowledge - base to identify species and
predict resistance profile, including minor populations.
In the three - year study, researchers from Radboud University Medical Centre and The University of Manchester
compared resistance profiles in 230 fungal samples, collected from rural areas in West Yorkshire which were treated with fungicides, to 290 air and soil samples from inner city sites across Greater Manchester.
Noticing an
odd resistance profile, first author Vincenzo Di Pilato, Ph.D., reanalyzed the genome data from the bacterium, and discovered the new gene, which is a variant on the colistin - resistant gene, mcr - 1.

Resistance Profiling, Cytotoxicity Testing and issue Efficacy Modeling.
