A ballon is a large, lightweight, rubber or plastic bag filled with air that is used for various purposes such as play, decoration, or transportation. In French, it also refers to a type of aerostat (a vehicle that can float in the atmosphere using gas pressure) which is commonly known as a hot air balloon.
