Definition of «caesarean section»

A caesarean section is a surgical procedure in which a baby is delivered through an incision made in the mother's abdomen and uterus. This method is used when it is necessary to deliver the baby via C-section, either because of complications during pregnancy or labor, or if there are concerns about the health of the mother or child. The procedure gets its name from Julius Caesar, who was reportedly delivered through a similar incision in his mother's abdomen.
