Clip art refers to a collection of illustrations, images or graphics that are available in various formats such as vector files, bitmap files and even PDFs. These images can be easily downloaded from websites, software applications or purchased from online stores for use in creating presentations, documents, web pages, advertisements, posters, etc. The term "clip art" comes from the fact that these illustrations were originally intended to be cut out of magazines and other printed materials using scissors (or a clip) and then pasted onto another surface such as paper or cardboard. Today, however, most people use digital methods to add clip art images into their work.
