The term diaspora refers to a population of people who have been dispersed from their original homeland or region, often due to political, economic, or social reasons. This dispersion can result in the formation of communities in different parts of the world that maintain cultural and linguistic ties with their ancestral homeland. The term is commonly used to describe the Jewish population who were forced into exile following the destruction of the Second Temple in Jerusalem in 70 AD, as well as other populations such as the African diaspora which resulted from the transatlantic slave trade.
