A digitizer is a device or software that converts physical information into digital format. This can include converting hand-written text, drawings, or signatures into an electronic document using a tablet and stylus, or scanning physical images to create a digital version. In the context of computer graphics, a digitizer is also used to describe hardware that captures input from a mouse, touchpad, or other pointing device by translating the movement of the device into cursor movement on the screen.
