"Glycolytic" refers to a process in our body that breaks down glucose (sugar) to produce energy. It is a part of a larger metabolic pathway known as glycolysis.
The ATP - CP system is short lived and only provides roughly 5 - 10 seconds as the primary energy source during a set before glycolytic pathway takes over the bulk of the burden of ATP replenishment (5 - 7). (fitoverfat.com)
The second being the Anaerobic Glycolytic System which the body relies primarily on anaerobic metabolism for the energy required to perform intensive exercise of greater than 12 - 15 seconds and less than 3 minutes duration (2). (directlyfitness.com)
