The term "heeler" can refer to a type of dog breed, such as the Australian Cattle Dog or Blue Lacy Heeler. It may also be used in reference to an individual who helps guide cattle by nipping at their heels during movement. In some sports like rodeo events, it is also called steer wrestling wherein a person tries to force a steer off its feet and then dismounts it while holding the animal down by grabbing its horns or neck.
