Implicit Bias refers to the unconscious or subconscious attitudes, beliefs and stereotypes that individuals may hold towards certain groups of people. These biases can influence our perceptions, judgments and behaviors without us being aware of it. Implicit bias is different from explicit bias because it operates at a level below conscious awareness and cannot be easily controlled or modified through willpower alone. It is often revealed through implicit association tests (IAT), which measure the strength of an individual's automatic associations between two concepts, such as race and competence.
