Interracial refers to relationships, marriages or offspring between individuals from different racial backgrounds. It is often used in reference to romantic partnerships or families where one partner or parent is of a different race than the other(s). The term can also be applied more broadly to describe interactions and relationships between people of different races, regardless of whether they are in a personal relationship.
