A lineman is a person who works in the electrical power industry, responsible for maintaining and repairing electric power transmission lines. They may also be referred to as lineworkers or utility workers. Linemen are trained professionals who work on high voltage power lines that transmit electricity over long distances from generating plants to substations, then to homes and businesses. Their job is physically demanding and requires them to climb poles and work at heights while dealing with live electrical wires.
