The term "lob" has multiple meanings depending on its context.

1) In anatomy, a lob is one of two lateral masses or projections of certain glands in the body such as the thyroid gland (the two lobes), the adrenal glands (two upper and two lower lobes), or the lungs (right and left lobe).

2) In architecture, a lob is an extension or projection from a main building.
