The term medial refers to something that is situated or located in the middle, between two other things. It can also describe a structure or part of an organism that is positioned nearer to one end than the other, such as the median nerve which runs down the center of your arm from your neck to your hand. In addition, medial can be used to refer to something that is concerned with or involved in the internal workings or processes of a system or organization, rather than its external aspects.
