Percentage point, also known as percent point or simply pp, is a unit used to express changes in interest rates, inflation rates and other percentage-based measures. It refers to the change in the value represented by one percentage point within a given range. For example, if a stock index rises 100 points, it means that the index has risen by 1% or 100 percent points from its previous close.
