Piping refers to a type of fabrication or construction process in which hollow tubes, known as pipes, are used for transporting fluids such as water, steam, gas or chemicals. The term can also refer to the sound made by birds or other animals using their vocal cords to produce a high-pitched call. In addition, "piping" is sometimes used in cookery and baking to describe the process of cutting fruits or vegetables into thin strips or shapes for decorative purposes.
