ROM stands for Read-Only Memory. It is a type of memory that can only be read from, and cannot be written to or modified. In other words, data stored in ROM remains unchanged unless it is manually altered. This makes it an ideal storage solution for important system files such as the BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) which controls the basic functions of a computer.
