A runabout is a small, open motorboat that is typically used for recreational purposes. It usually has a single outboard engine and can accommodate from 2 to 6 passengers. Runabouts are often seen on lakes, rivers or coastal waters where they are used for water skiing, fishing, or simply cruising around. The term "runabout" is also sometimes used more broadly to refer to any small vehicle that is designed for transportation over short distances, such as a motorcycle, scooter, or ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle).
