A significant amount of body fat refers to a large quantity or proportion of fat in relation to an individual's overall weight. This can include excess adipose tissue stored beneath the skin, around organs and within muscle tissues. A person is generally considered to have a significant amount of body fat if their Body Mass Index (BMI) falls into the obese range or if they exhibit certain physical characteristics such as large love handles, a protruding belly or excessive back fat.
