A spokesperson or a spokeswoman is an individual who speaks on behalf of another person, group, organization or company. The term usually refers to someone in a position of authority within that entity and they are responsible for representing their views, opinions, beliefs, goals, objectives, policies, etc., to the public through various forms of media such as press conferences, interviews, speeches, statements, etc. A spokeswoman is typically well-informed about her organization's stance on issues and can provide accurate information, clarifications or explanations when needed.
