The term "statutory" refers to something that is established by law or statute. It can be used in a variety of contexts, such as describing laws passed by legislative bodies, rules and regulations created by government agencies, or requirements set forth by contractual agreements between parties. In essence, anything that is mandated by an authority or governing body can be described as "statutory."
