The term "stroke patient" refers to an individual who has experienced a stroke, which is also known as a cerebrovascular accident (CVA). A stroke occurs when blood flow to part of the brain is interrupted or reduced, depriving brain tissue of oxygen and nutrients. This can cause brain cells to die, leading to a loss of function in the affected area. Stroke patients may experience a range of symptoms depending on which part of the brain was affected by the stroke, including difficulty speaking, paralysis or weakness on one side of the body, problems with vision or balance, and memory loss. Treatment for stroke patients typically involves medication to manage symptoms, physical therapy to regain strength and coordination, and in some cases surgery or other interventions to restore blood flow to the affected area.
