Suffolk is a historic county in England, located on the eastern coast of the island. It was originally formed as one of the three administrative divisions of Anglo-Saxon kingdom of East Anglia and later became part of the modern day county of Suffolk. The name "Suffolk" comes from an Old English word meaning "southern people," referring to the region's location in relation to Norfolk, another historic county in England. Today, Suffolk is a popular tourist destination known for its beautiful coastline, charming villages and historical landmarks such as Framlingham Castle and Sutton Hoo.
