The term "underbody" refers to the part of a vehicle that is hidden from view when it is fully assembled. This includes components such as the frame, suspension system, exhaust pipes and other mechanical elements that are necessary for the proper functioning of the car but not usually seen by passengers or onlookers. The underbody can also refer to the underside of an aircraft, boat or any vehicle that operates on a surface.
