I gather that this strikes you as a very dissatisfying portrayal, and it should for two reasons: One, you are reading a portion of the bible which describes a portion of His attributes which can be remedied by simply reading the WHOLE bible to see what it has to say regarding His longsuffering, kindness, and love; that, I dare say without which, you would not even be able to sit here and slander Him with the irreverance conveyed in your words.
