You're spreading it over and I would think that also, it's easier to know, for science fiction fantasy or for romance, what your core audience is looking for so you can deliver that in a sort of efficient way, as opposed to if you're doing literary fiction and it's much more of a crapshoot as to whether it's going to appeal to people.
