On the Boeing 767's that run the Tokyo — Hong Kong you'll find JAL Business Class recliner seats in a 2
-2-2 cabin layout and on the 737's that operate on the shorter Tokyo - Seoul route you'll find the same.

The airline has decided to go for a 1 -2-1 and a 2
-2-2 layout for their seats and that makes some seats in the Business Class
cabin a lot more desirable than others — especially for solo travelers.
The older Business Class
cabin offers a 2
-2-2 layout with angle - flat seating (i.e the seat folds out into a 180 degree bed but it's not quite parallel to the floor) while the newer Business Class
cabin looks very similar (it's still a 2
-2-2 layout) but the seats are true lie - flat.
The new Premium Economy
cabin is set out with a 6 - across
layout (2
-2-2) and offer seats with a 38 ″ set pitch (leg room) and 19 ″ of seat width — the same dimensions Delta has chosen for its Premium Economy product which will debut next year.
The Boeing 777 - 200ER business class
cabins are configured with 48 flat - bed seats in a staggered, forward facing
layout, alternating 1 -2-1 and 2
-2-2.

layout does not make the
