its 100k point sign - up bonus and it's array of upscale travel perks.

Not only was the card a home run on it's own, it came with a massive

American Express has been dishing out
100K point sign up bonuses left and right lately, some intentionally and some not.
This week I wrote about about a great
100k point sign up bonus offer for the American Express Platinum Card.
This card has
a 100K point sign - up bonus and earns 3x points on travel and dining, so it also helps rack up points quickly.
On top of
the 100K point sign - up bonus, which is worth a minimum of $ 1,500 when redeemed through Chase's travel booking portal, the card also comes with a $ 300 travel credit per calendar year.
Currently have had this card for about 6 months and applied in time for
the 100k point sign up offer.
This card and its promotional
100K point sign up bonus sent shockwaves around the travel blogosphere.

However, when Chase came up with the Sapphire Reserve Offer for
100K points, I remember
signing up for it from a link one one of these travel blogs and there was no mention of the
100K offer.
Any Idea of the
sign on bonus potentially going back up to
100k points after spending $ 4,000 in the first 3 months?
These miles were acquired primarily from the mega
100k signing bonus Chase Bank offered for their British Airways Visa cards & the rest were transferred into the BA program from American Express Membership Rewards
points.
Now that the
sign - up bonus is no longer
100K points, the hype surrounding the Chase Sapphire Reserve card has died down considerably.

I'm still waiting for a decent offer on the Amex Platinum before I
sign up;
100k (or 150k if I'm ever that lucky)
points would be ideal.
While this new card's
sign - up bonus isn't quite as high as the original
100k offer we saw for Sapphire Reserve, 80,000
points is still nothing to sneeze at; that's worth $ 1,680 in my book!
To clarify further, it's not just the Platinum
points are frozen from those who
signed up for this
100k offer; all MR
points from any personal or business Amex card.
My husband and I both already
signed up for the Chase Reserve when they were offering the
100K bonus
points.
Getting 1 of the personal cards and the business card during the increased
sign - up periods will earn between
100k - 110k
points.
