AIOs for this exact purpose!
I mostly got
the AIOs for daycare (yep, it is possible to work full time and CD — I do!).
But then we expanded to less expensive
AIOs for daycare.

So I bought it in a NB
AIO for our eventual baby girl when we sized up flats.
I would suggest something easier to get on and off, like an AI2 or
AIO for the plane rides in case you have to make some quick changes.

for a trim fit and ultimate convenience, but don't gain too many merits
for maximum absorbency.
Remember again that
AIOs are not the same as pocket diapers and leaks with pocket diapers will be dealt with in a slightly different manner including consideration
for interior and exterior fabrics as well as the type of inserts used.
If you find that a certain
AIO or Pocket diaper is not working
for your baby please let us know.
My biggest mistake was with # 3 and being woe'd by the (then) new
aio's and not wanting to admit that the style wasn't working
for me.

I think my favorite
for newborns are
AIO's since I'm too exhausted to stuff pockets or remember to put covers over fitted's lol!
Regardless of the system you use (gdiapers, prefolds na dcovers,
AIOs, etc.), it is less harmful on the environment, becuase instead of 6000 diapers per child going to the landfill (which is the average
for a newborn to potty train), only a couple of dozen (if that) go into the landfill, and that's AFTER you use the cloth
for all your children, something you can't do with ANBY disposables on the market.
They are all adorable - but I think
aio's or prefolds appeal to me
for newborns
for ease of use and simplicity's sake.
Then, when the baby gets bigger, the one sizes fit better (we had issues at the legs of the one - size
AIO and AI2 diapers being too big
for the first few months).
we did sposies
for the first few weeks with my first 2 until they fit in
AIOs, so this is good info if we have a third!
For night time, we had half a dozen
aios (we had small BG's, which are discontinued) and a handful of one - size pocket diapers, like Rumparooz and Katydid (now Oh Katy!)

AIO style is a favorite.
For the first few weeks we use BumGenius (BG)
AIO NB's.
Destiny: About 35, mostly
AIO with a few fitteds and wool
for night time.

AIOs and hybrids and even some OS dipes I got
for free with my purchase.

I still prefer prefolds and covers
