consider that those prices are for travel on airlines like Lufthansa, Air New Zealand and
ANA then the promotion becomes quite compelling.
This is a very interesting move on the part of Hawaiian
considering it's already a codeshare partner with JAL's close competitor
ANA — it will be left to be seen how this new deal affects that relationship.
But fortunately, there are other options to
consider such as 30 % of the distance when crediting to
ANA.
That's a considerable amount of miles
considering that you could book a roundtrip to Europe with
ANA for only 88,000 miles.
Tel Aviv to Istanbul (if
ANA doesn't
consider it backtracking, but I think it's only for flying segments) on Turkish
70,000 to Japan in economy isn't terrible but
considering how amazing the redemptions on
ANA, JAL, Alaskan Airline miles can be to get to Japan, I would rather not go with Avianca when getting to Japan.
There are excellent redemptions available from
ANA, especially
considering their low fuel surcharges and excellent service.
The only real drawback to
ANA is that they don't permit one - way awards and have somewhat restricting rules on connections, so that's something you always have to
consider.
The Rewards: With one of the best Business Class products in the sky, it's worth
considering ANA for reward flights.
