The latest independent
safety assessments from vehicle
safety authority,
ANCAP, have revealed two top performers with the Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio equalling the highest
scores recorded to date in the area of Adult Occupant Protection.
The Barina
scores a five - star
ANCAP safety rating with front and side impact airbags for driver and front passenger, and full - length side curtain airbags.
But although all the vehicles
scored the highest possible overall ratings,
ANCAP says the actual
safety standards across the entire range of variants weren't the same.
The new model is yet to be tested for an
ANCAP safety rating, but the superseded car
scored five stars and the new model, stronger and larger, with all the appropriate gear as standard should at least be as safe as the older model.
The original PikUp
scored a «poor» two - star crash
safety rating by
ANCAP but wasn't equipped with airbags.
The Murano does not have a Euro NCAP or
ANCAP safety rating, and in American NHTSA testing managed only four stars (the original model
scored a five - star NHTSA
score).
Both models
scored five - star
ANCAP safety ratings, following strong results in all areas of
safety, active and passive.
The overall
score for the Great Wall Steed was 16.49 out of 37, or two out of five stars, and
ANCAP stated: ``... there has been little change to the vehicle's structure to improve the
safety of the passenger cabin».
