Autobots in the film despite not appearing until well into the second half.

Autobots — who are mostly
characters we haven't seen in this series before (including a chainy - bearded, cigar - chomping soldier noticeably voiced by John Goodman)-- have a reunion in the desert.

Some weapons can't be equipped by certain
characters, but for the most part upgraded gear can be swapped over to another
character and thus there's no risk of finding yourself entering the fray with a weaker
Autobot.
Like before you won't just be playing through Fall of Cybertron as just one
character, instead you'll be taking on the roles of various «bots from both the
Autobots and the Decipticons, though this time in one cohesive campaign rather than two separate ones.
Other
characters that are available for multiplayer are G1 Retro Optimus Prime and
Autobot Hound.
Platinum have gotten some of the voice actors who voice
characters in the original T.V series to reprise their roles for the game, such as peter Cullen who is the voice of the
Autobot leader Optimus prime, along with Frank Welker who is the voice of both Megatron and Soundwave.
Unfortunately neither the similarity nor charm extend much beyond the
character visuals, as Mutants in Manhattan lacks the substance, variety and cohesion that made Transformers»
autobot rampage such an unexpected hit.
With a decent amount of
characters that you will be using in both the
Autobots and Decepticons, fans will be pleased that each of them have their own abilities that they can use in their fight against one another.
You will note that I said you play as «an
Autobot» above, as there isn't just one playable
character.
This means that when players pick their side as either
Autobot or Decepticon, they will have a massive level of creative control over their
character and that the world around them won't be static.
Like similar turn - based strategy games Rogue Planet and Mecho Wars, in Transformers G1: Awakening you take turns moving your
characters (the
Autobots) close enough to your enemies (the Decepticons) to attack them.
By completing missions in both the
Autobots and Decepticons campaigns players earn credits and recruit new
characters to improve their card collection.
