In the latest sign of this disruption, author John Locke — who earlier this year became the first self -
published author to sell a million
ebooks — has signed an innovative deal with publisher Simon & Schuster that shows
at least some players in the industry are thinking
about how to adapt to the shifting balance of power.

published (one available in print), a contract with a small press for a digital serial style series with the option of print on demand copies later, and more ideas and drafts then I know what to do with other then

This was my first year
at the Frankfurt Book Fair, the annual trade show that brings over 200,000
publishing professionals to Germany, so I can't say whether the event had more of a digital focus than in years past — but I assume that it did, because there was plenty of news

So my advice would be to do this all by yourself:
Publish your comic either as an app or as a
ebook (Amazon Kindle store, iBook store,...) and you will pay
at the most 30 %, and this 30 % means you won't have to worry
about handling credit cards, doing paybacks, distributing your comic, etc., and you get very good exposure as well.

Following on from the previous article
about Amazon
eBook publishing and being specific with your Amazon tags, let's take one step further and look
at how you can use these tags to increase your book's discover - ability in the Amazon ecosystem.
(I know that this, like much of
publishing, is changing, but in June 2009 most traditional publishers were adamant
about not
publishing print and
ebooks at the same time.)
In his recent New Insights on
eBook Unit Sales from Nielsen, Michael Cader
