Well, the Screen
Actors Guild and the Golden Globes announced their nominations this week and shocked us with noms for both Jake Gyllenhaal in Nightcrawler and Jennifer Aniston in Cake, throwing the
race a fantastic curve ball as we start to enter the nitty gritty of
awards season.
Over the weekend, the Screen
Actors Guild
Awards (or SAG, for those who don't know) did their best provide both questions and answers in regards to the Oscar
race.
Josh Brolin is also another
actor unsure of where he fits in the
awards race.

race so far is considered wide open, and by winnowing the field down to five movies for its top
award on Wednesday, the Screen
Actors left out many frontrunners.
Jennifer Lawrence and Brie Larson continued the fierce
awards race contest by both taking home lead actress prizes for Joy (Musical or Comedy) and Room (Drama), while Sly Stallone unexpectedly proved there's life in the old dog yet with a Best Supporting
Actor win for Creed.
«Creed» isn't
award worthy material like «Fruitvale Station», however if the supporting
actor race doesn't get any stronger, a powerful Thanksgiving box office turnout for this film could make way for Stallone to snag a nomination.
The 42 - year - old
actor was the clear frontrunner for best supporting
actor through the later stages of this year's
awards race.
Judging
actors» careers by the Academy
Awards is the wrong way to look at Hollywood; it places too much importance on who wins Oscars and consequently makes the ridiculous pageantry surrounding the Oscar
