No wonder there is a growing backlash against Social Emotional Learning by those who see it being co opted as a low - cost way by many conservatives to avoid providing
adequate economic support to schools and as an excuse to avoid discussion of income and wealth inequity.

adequate and appropriate land; community and political
support; availability of
economic development and tax incentives, and an appropriately skilled workforce.

Toxic stress response can occur when a child experiences strong, frequent, and / or prolonged adversity — such as physical or emotional abuse, chronic neglect, caregiver substance abuse or mental illness, exposure to violence, and / or the accumulated burdens of family
economic hardship — without
adequate adult
support.
