Age of Dragons» when it aired a few months ago.
The actors engage in the exaggerated performance style of silent
movie melodramas and comedies and Maddin digitally «
ages» his films with scuffs and scratches and cracks and even distorted frames as
if they were from decaying nitrate prints from the 1920s.
If there was ever an
age where it was possible for mom, dad, brother, and sister to pick a
movie they all genuinely liked with a gestation period lasting less than an hour, it passed a long, long time before the twenty - first century began.

If one were to point out its faults, they would be the same as any other mainstream teen coming - of -
age movie.
And
if Gerwig isn't reinventing the coming - of -
age movie, she's certainly investing it with uncommon wit and quotability; her dialogue hits that rare, special sweet spot between authenticity and zing — an ideal middle ground, in other words, between the way people actually talk and the gut - busting way we only want them to.
My problem is just that

movie were something like ten years older, then its
aged special effects would have been easier to forgive.
