Air temp at the track was only 46 degrees, allowing the car to breathe better, and the track's asphalt was hovering around 57 degrees, just warm enough to keep heat in the tires.

Air temps peak
at around 30C in August, dropping to around 25C in Jan and Feb..
The artist's previous exhibitions include a recent solo exhibition entitled Lovelady,
at the University of Texas, Austin, TX (2014), as well as various other group exhibitions including Mote et
Air du
Temps, Paris, France (2011), Always the Young Strangers, Higher Pictures, New York, New York (2011), Post-Now, Marty Walker Gallery, Dallas, Texas (2010), and Perspectives 168, Contemporary Arts Museum, Houston (2009).
Calculations included tides, sun / moon gravity,
air / water
temps, and location
at point of launch... virtually anywhere in the world's oceans.
He notes that the sat photos show that cloud cover remains low and that the ice is very mobile
at a time when the pack should be most firm (not really a surprise since ocean
temps are much more important than
air temps, and apparently it's the ocean
temps that have been the largest factor in the recent sharp sea ice reduction).
As long as there is an increase in the GHG induced
air temp there will be an increase in convection / conduction as feedback, UNTIL they reach equilibrium,
at the original temperature.
Now if you look
at daily
temp changes, when the sun raises the
temp, the sun causes winds to change, hotter
air to rise faster, and
at night the winds die down as the earth cools off.
water consequently stops freezing [not unless it is warmer than
air temp], so the latent energy falls and so the temperature tends to stabilize
at that point.
A look
at this shows the almost perfect correlation between sst and
air temps
Under a total energy metric, one would look
at all forms of energy in the Arctic including sensible heat in atmosphere and wind, enthalpy, currents, water and
air temps, mass balances, salinity, etc..
Sounds like «guess
at the numbers» to me... particularly when (as I show in Figure 3 above) the results don't agree with the
air temp data.
As you say, convection uses up a lot of energy too and also counters the idea of radiative heat transfer as a big ticket item because «hot» CO2 molecules only remain so for a brief fraction of a second before they collide with N2 or O2 to warm that localised parcel of
air; which then rises to attain equilibrium T somewhere higher and
at a COLDER
temp so no rad Transf!!!
At the equator: direct solar energy; warm
temps; low pressure
air rises and moves towards the poles.
The reason the silver thingy won't generate perpetual motion is that the exposed ends will assume whatever the
air temp is
at that altitude.
At the poles: indirect solar energy; cold
temps; high pressure
air sinks and moves towards the equator.
There is a temperature gradient caused by atmospheric radiations — warm
air rises, expands and cools in lower pressure
at height — but this is just the lapse rate and doesn't create cooler
temps at height.
But note, I haven't measured clear sky
temp on a warm day, it is suppose to be much closer to surface
temp, but
at warmer
temps there's much more water vapor in the
air.
Nick, I understand that marine
air temp is taken
at night to avoid radiant day heat reflecting from the ship, but there was not much information I could find to see if the time of observation had a protocol and whether it was consistently followed.
In reality, there is constant flux with sea surface
temps being
at different times and places, cooler and warmer than
air temps.
But again and again I just see the same shit come out of you people «
air temps,
air temps,
air temps» is all you know how to fucking look
at, and the actually CO2 and methane levels, you don't have a clue how much society produces compared to natural causes, right now people make about 50x as much as nature puts out.
Norbert: if you include both land and sea temperatures combined then we are likely to see consecutive records broken month in - month out from now on until there is a large prolonged trend in land /
air temps the other way which
at the momenmt seems increasingly unlikely.
Warmer
Temps Likely to Blame The original paper gives a number of examples which show that changes in land use, precipitation, cloudiness and humidity are superimposed on glaciers similar to those of Kilimanjaro, in terms of latitude, and that something else is
at work... «most obvious would be warmer
air temperatures».
The barrel cooling would have been greater if 1) the fan had started
at the right time, and 2) the barrel water
temp was higher
at the start of the period (as it would normally be if the barrels had been used for cooling the day before), and 3) the heat transfer from
air stream to barrels was further optimized as discussed elsewhere.
Gas under pressure, but
at ambient
temp will chill the
air molecules as it escapes.
