This last clause introduces an idea still unknown to the great majority of Catholics,
although forshadowed in the Vatican II documents: namely that in carrying out his command to «till the
earth and subdue it», which includes the
arts and sciences, we are helping God complete his creation.
Although his
art takes the golden ratio, the Fibonacci sequence, and other eternally valid geometries as its starting point, these paintings are firmly rooted in our mundane world, as titles such as From
Earth to Heaven attest.
