Works by American Pop - art artists, such as Richard Hamilton, James Rosenquist and European representatives of this tendency, such as Eduardo Arroyo, Equipo Crónica group and others will also be exhibited.

Group exhibitions include Out of India: Contemporary Art of the South Asian Diaspora at the Queens Museum of Art, Flushing, NY; Pop Surrealism at the Aldrich Museum, Ridgefield, CT (1999); Negotiating Small Truths at the Blanton Museum of Art, University of Texas at Austin, TX (1999); and The American Century: Art & Culture 1900 - 2000 at the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, NY (2000).

In economics, via the growth of the world economy in general and the American economy in particular; in science, via the spread of television; in contemporary music, (which itself became known as «Pop») through the miniaturization of radio, increased record production, the appearance of cult groups like The Beatles, and the phenomenon of pychedelia; and lastly through an expanding art market.

In 1962, at the Sidney Janis Gallery in New York, the group organized the International Exhibition of the New Realists, a joint showing of contemporary American Pop Art and the Nouveau Realisme movement; and in 1963 came the last group show - an exhibition at the Biennale of San Marino.

His paintings have been included in major group exhibitions internationally since the 1960s, including «America is Hard to See,» Whitney Museum of American Art; «The Artist as His Subject,» Museum of Modern Art, New York; Documenta 5, Kassel, Germany; «The American Century: Art and Culture, 1950 - 2000,» Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; «Les Anneés Pop,» Centre Pompidou, Paris; and «Infinite Painting,» Villa Manin Centro d'Art Contemporanea, Codroipo, Italy.

Her last major group exhibition was «Hand - Painted Pop: American Art in Transition, 1955 — 62,» shown in leading museums in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York.

«Traditionally, Pop Art, has been defined and dominated by a small group of Anglo - American male artists,» according to curator Sid Sachs.

The group's lasting influence was wide ranging, from American Pop Art and the Neo-Pop of Jeff Koons to Capital Realism in Germany and Neo Expressionism in Europe and the United States.

Instead of the usual blues, country, and «American roots» bands they were used to having, the group playing that evening was a young indie / power pop / alternative group from Limerick, Ireland, called «We Should Be Dead.»
