Americans consume more fructose than ever before, yet concerns remain that the
sugar, used to sweeten beverages
and processed foods, poses health risks.
The standard
American diet (SAD) is typically loaded with
processed foods full of
sugar,
and devoid of most nutrients
and fiber.
I would bet that
processed foods and sugar would be a more likely culprit for most of
Americans with Type II Diabetes.
Most of the

American diet is from

food processing and preparation, or at the table.

Unfortunately, due to the SAD (Standard
American Diet) many of us eat

American diet, it's easy to recognize that the dietary roots of the
American weight problem is linked to carbs —
sugars (primarily fructose)
and grains — in the form of
processed foods and sweet drinks.

and then eats «healthy» once a week, with healthy meaning no
sugars or
processed foods and low carb, etc.....
Had the study been completed, it could have led to further research
and policies that put the welfare of
American citizens — not the
sugar and processed food industries — first.
Things that can encourage the overgrowth of harmful bacteria include antibiotic use, insufficient consumption of vegetables
and fruits, too many
processed foods,
and excess
sugar — in other words, the
American diet.
Cut out
foods that kill good bacteria
and promote harmful bacteria:
Sugars,
processed foods,
processed carbohydrates, alcohol
and energy drinks, fast
foods,
food additives,
and other unhealthy staples of the standard
American diet.
Some children must be on a special diet, such as the GAPS or ketogenic diet, that eliminates all
sugar, grains,
processed foods,
and other staples of the
American diet.

food, vending machine snacks, frozen meals,

The single largest source of calories for
Americans comes from fructose, a type of
sugar that's loaded into your soft drinks, fruit juices
and sports drinks,
and hidden in most
processed foods — from bologna to pretzels to Worcestershire sauce to cheese spread.
When we look at the typical
American food pattern, we find a diet replete with
processed foods from which many nutritionally valuable components have been removed
and replaced by too much salt, too much
sugar,
and too many artificially hardened fats.
Americans consume roughly twice the amount of
sugar recommended for good health,
and sugars are rampant in
processed foods.
