days, it is heavily
skinned.
Just like the ZenFone AR, it didn't have the cleanest
Android skin and failed to perform well with
day - to -
day tasks.
I'm sure many of you remember back in the
day when
Android just looked plain ugly, and Manufacturer
skins made it look nicer.
Many custom
skins aren't as obnoxious as they were in the early
days of
Android, but there are undeniable advantages to getting a device running the cleanest, fastest and most secure version of
Android you can get.

skins were perhaps a «necessary evil» in the eyes of some critics.

And although Huawei has added a few little customisations of its own, it's pretty much vanilla
Android here, which is great news for those not keen on the manufacturer
skins that feature on most
Android models these
days.
For year's Samsung's traditionally heavy TouchWiz UI
Android skin has bogged down its top - specced phones, causing them to lag behind competitor's devices in many areas when it comes to
day - to -
day performance.
TouchWiz hasn't seen the better
days as it has been seeing now; always getting a mouthful from critics, but this time around Samsung has finally made its custom
Android skin worthy of being on a premium priced handset.
It's probably no coincidence that Meizu chose to unveil its ingenious new flagship smartphones on the same
day that Xiaomi brought to light the mid-range Mi 5X, alongside a revised
Android skin, proprietary smart assistant and incredibly affordable AI speaker.
