Android than other manufacturers like HTC and even Samsung these days, but the Sony launcher is nice and pretty useful, offering not only search functionality but suggested apps too.

Some
Android manufacturers are faster
than others, however, and that's what we're looking at today.
A strong partnership with Google means these phones run a pure version of
Android straight from Google and it also gets version and security updates much faster
than any
other manufacturer.
While Fossil is the only
manufacturer to have confirmed so far, remember that Google has a great deal more control over
Android in watch form
than it does
other forms of
Android pushed out to phones.

Android skins, you swipe horizontally rather
than vertically to move through multiple pages of apps.
If HTC does one thing better
than just about any
other Android manufacturer, it's design.
In
other words, in a year of ongoing software development and improvement, and of Google encouraging
manufacturers to adopt the latest version of
Android and apply regular monthly software patches, the market is in the same position with less
than 1 % of today's devices running the latest version of
Android.
Huawei releases the latest
Android updates faster
than other Chinese
manufacturers.
Vanilla
Android, on the
other hand, gave consumers the best the platform could offer simply by trying to stay clean and doing less, or, as I like to put it, working as a canvas; a blank piece of paper that the user — rather
than a
manufacturer — had to fill via the immensely powerful tool represented by the Play Store.
It is worth mentioning that Sony along with Motorola, HTC, and OnePlus are the only
Android manufacturers who tend to update their high - end devices sooner
than the
others.
NVIDIA can hold this over Samsung's head — not necessarily Apple's, as as they update their devices regularly too, but they're certainly better at it
than any
other Android manufacturer.
Google released
Android 6.0 Marshmallow more
than six months ago and while all of the company's Nexus devices have been updated with this OS, the same is not true for
other smartphone
manufacturers.
Today, the company regularly releases software updates for both of its 3 - series phones, and as I sit here with a newly - released Midnight Black OnePlus 3T running
Android 7.1.1 Oxygen OS Open Beta 4, if you must know), I am simply floored at its uniformity, at how utterly cohesive and mature the thing feels, and how OnePlus managed to figure out how best to sell its products — that is, by doing simple and good better

Manufacturers often fit
Android to their hardware, rather
than the
other way around.
There's certainly nothing wrong with HTC's new Sense UI 5.0, but many
Android users love a stock experience, and
other than rooting your phone and installing a custom or stock ROM, there's no way to get that on most
Android devices, as many
manufacturers put their own twist on the user interface.

manufacturers the ability to stand out with their hardware and custom features rather
than worrying about custom software upgrades and the like.
