Alongside the release of AdaptivePack, Action Launcher is getting an
update to version 28 which features a brand new
icon picker, improved compatibility when running on
Android 8 Oreo, and more.
As we are mostly all on 7.0 on TouchWiz / Samsung Experience, we use a new method of «Optimizing apps» (you are able to see this when you
update your phone, it will show a notification with the
Android Nougat
icon, saying that it is upgrading in the background), so this way of optimizing apps also unloads target packages, ultimately disrupting the idmapping process at boot (due to target package not existing) and thus, a few people experience overlay unloads after a reboot.
Speaking of the
update, along side bringing all the usual
Android Oreo features such as Picture - in - Picture mode, notification channels, stricter background limits, adaptive
icons and more, this
update also comes loaded with Sony's own additions.
Not only did they add the customize widgets into the docks, but they
updated the sub-menu to match the look found in
Android 8.1 Oreo and added Adaptive
icons to the stable version of Nova (these features were previously found in the beta version).
With the
Android 7.1 APIs finalized, developers can begin

Android 8.0 Oreo is a relatively minor
update that introduces a few handy new features such as Notification Dots, like Apple's unread badges on app
icons, and Picture - in - Picture mode, which lets you continue watching a video while in another app.

Android 7.1.1, the Nexus 6 will get such features as App shortcuts, circular app
icons and
updates to the Google keyboard, among others.
Of course, there's no guaranteeing the new folder
icon will stick around in the final
Android N
update — what we're expecting to become
Android 7.0 later this year — but it's a nice new look to try out.
Aside from the new features, the
Android update gives faster app loading time, upgraded settings menu, adaptive
icons and a swift boot time.
The Your Music feature aside, the
Android update brings with it a darker theme, which you can see in the image above, as well as new typography and rounded
icons — the new look is a solid interface
update, being easy on the eyes and altogether sleek.

Starting with the launcher, which has been

Android features and designs, swipe - up anywhere brings up the app drawer, and long - pressing

Android 8.1, users will start to see these Oreo
