«People who commit to a
hospice adoption understand that while they may not have a lot of time with that
animal, they can feel good about
giving them love and support during the time they have left,» said Debby Chaplic, ARL's Associate Director of Volunteer Engagement.
She was
given to the local
Animal Shelter with a heartbreaking story: the elderly owner could no longer live on her own and needed to go to a
hospice that did not allow pets.
To help socialize and nurture
animals before they are adopted, our volunteers fostered 1,537
animals, including many terminally ill
animals that are
given the opportunity to live out their lives in a loving home because of our innovative Fospice (foster -
hospice) program.
If you would like to
give this gift to an
animal and be part of our
Hospice Foster program please contact

For some
animals we rely on
Hospice Fosters to
give them the home and love that they have been in need of for so long.
