Observations of blue and red calibration standards measured at various positions on the detector (Bohlin et al. 2017) confirm the fidelity of the F814W flat, with
aperture photometry consistent to ~ 1 % across the FOV, regardless of spectral type.
Following subtraction of the sky background from these frames, differential
aperture photometry was carried out on Amalthea and a nearby field star.
Applying
aperture photometry on the azimuthally averaged deconvolved PACS images and using a modified blackbody of the form Bν · λ − β, as expected for a grain emissivity Qabs ~ λ − β with β equal to 1.2 (representing amorphous carbon, Mennella et al. 1998), we derived a dust temperature between 108 ± 5 K at 20 ′ ′ and 40 ± 5 K at 180 ′ ′.
The photometry is obtained from onboard
aperture photometry by means of large aperture masks, with a size and shape adapted to the large psf of its exoplanet focal plane, where 50 % of the flux is contained in an elliptical area of about 35 23.
