With WWDC 2016, Apple's annual developer event, just a few weeks out, we're likely to hear some chatter of the direction HomeKit, Siri, and other platforms will take, though it's unclear whether that will be where this new version of the assistant — and any accompanying
Apple TV hardware — will be shown off first.
Among many announcements at Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference, the tech giant revealed that
its Apple TV hardware will soon support Amazon Prime Video.
Today during a special presentation event in San Francisco, Apple announced a new version of
its Apple TV hardware that offers exclusive gaming content in addition to a slate of new navigation - focused features.
The plan instead must be to continue pushing the current
Apple TV hardware and software and allow the competition another long run at outpacing the fruit company.
Apple notes that more than 11 million registered developers are ready to tackle development for its new
Apple TV hardware.
Apple's WWDC keynote is coming up quickly — it's on Monday, June 8 — and we may hear more about HomeKit then, especially if Apple launches a new version of
the Apple TV hardware, which will reportedly act as a bridge between your HomeKit devices and your iPhone when you're away from your home.
It's possible Apple is holding onto any new
Apple TV hardware to launch it all at once.
The new
Apple TV hardware is much more powerful than the prior model; it now features an A10X Fusion processor (the same as what's currently in the iPad Pro) and 3 GB of RAM.

hardware will further secure Android in the catagory of «only for hardcore tech fans», which is untrue and unfortunate (in my opinion).
While most people were thinking today's event would be focused on other products, it does seem a little disappointing to see them touch on the
Apple TV without giving it a
hardware upgrade too.

Apple plans to introduce
hardware updates to the AirPods on a regular basis.
Once that process is complete, the
Apple TV will be displayed as an available piece of
hardware directly within the Home app.
Hardware wise, it's likely that
Apple will add a 128 GB
Apple TV offering, though the company could offer a 256 GB option as well.
It's a brand - new app built specifically for the fourth - generation
Apple TV, and it mimics all the features of the
hardware remote: Siri voice and typing support, dictation for entering usernames and passwords, accelerometer and gyroscope support for games, and of course, touch navigation.
It's likely that we won't see an
Apple TV upgrade for a while so this will be the latest

TV is very Google - y, so it's based on the web and can be streamed to pretty much any device you like, with no need to store files locally at all.
