Internationally acclaimed Polish artist Pawel Althamer (b. 1967) traveled to the Philippines to participate in a residency at Bellas Artes Projects that was centered on the annual procession of the Black Nazarene in Quiapo.

Bellas Artes Projects is pleased to present «Busis Ibat Ha Kanayunan (Voices from the Hinterlands)», an exhibition by Cian Dayrit.
During his residency at Bellas Artes Projects, Dayrit focused his research into the history and mythology of the Ayta Magbukun community of Bataan, a deeply marginalized Indigenous Peoples group in central Luzon, examining their position in relation to colonial and post-colonial history and their representation in ethnographic studies of these periods, in close conversation with members of the community.
Bellas Artes Projects's Bataan campus at Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar is a perfect site for this work given the World War II history of this region — including the Battle of Bataan (Japanese three - month invasion) that resulted in the unforgettable Bataan Death March (April 9, 1942)-- and the 1984 completed but never activated Bataan Nuclear Power Plant visible on the adjacent peninsula.

Her many projects include Bas Jan Ader: Suspended Between Laughter and Tears, at Pitzer College in Claremont, California, and Museo de Arte Zapopan, Mexico; Citizen, Participant at Darb 1718 Art Center in Cairo, Egypt; and Vexing: Female Voices from East L.A. Punk at the Claremont Museum of Art which represented the City of Los Angeles at the 2009 Guadalajara International Book Fair.

Some of her own recent exhibitions and projects include a permanent installation at the High Desert Test Site, a 2006 solo museum show at the L.A.C Lieu Arte Contemporain in Sigean, France, and a 2007 solo show at Galerie Jacques Girard in Toulouse, France.
Mattingly participated in MoMA PS1's «Expo 1» in collaboration with Triple Canopy Magazine in 2013, received a Knight Foundation Grant for her WetLand project that opened in 2014 on the Delaware River in Philadelphia, and in 2015, she completed a two - part sculpture «Pull» for the International Havana Biennial with the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes de la Habana and the Bronx Museum of the Arts.

For their first presentations at the fair, A arte Invernizzi will mount a specially curated project devoted to the alternative and innovative forms of painting that emerged in Milan during the 1950s and 1960s, with works by Rodolfo Aricò (b. 1930, d. 2002), Dadamaino (b. 1930, d. 2004) and Mario Nigro (b. 1917, d. 1992), while Hales Gallery will examine the career of painter Frank Bowling (b. 1936) with a focused display of works produced during the artist's formative years (1968 — 1973).
