Honestly, if coquelin and diaby prove their fitness along with chambers those 3 could easily over take
arteta and flamini
as our
holding midfield choices.
From having to rely on Flamini and
Arteta as holding / defensive
midfielders, we now have Coquelin, Elneny and Xhaka.

arteta is a good player but not the best when he is used
as a DM.

holding midfielder and on top of that had extensive BPL experience, his only problem is his stature but for his price (8m) it was a good deal.
Against stronger teams I'd go for our standard formation — Either Welbeck or Giroud
as lone striker, Alexis on the left, Walcott or Ox on the right, Cazorla / Özil in the middle, Ramsey
as box to box and
Arteta / Flamini
as holding midfielder.
We say

holding midfielder, for me this is not efficient enough because he can do a better job further forward (where he has played all his life).....
