Most people know that chocolate is very dangerous to dogs and cats, but many people don't realize that candies containing
the artificial sweetener xylitol can also cause problems.
There are many items that are even more harmful than most even know about (like
the artificial sweetener Xylitol found in many sugarless peanut butters, mints and gums), and others where the dangers are purely dose dependent (like chocolate, certain nuts, raw onions and garlic, avocados and many flowers, such as poinsettias).
Above all, do NOT feed your dog peanut butter containing
the artificial sweetener xylitol — a substance extremely toxic to dogs.
Human toothpaste may irritate a pet's gastro - intestinal system or contain the toxic

artificial sweeteners over more healthy and natural
sweeteners?

xylitol; jams made with sugar, ascorbic acid or citric acid.
However since I couldn't break my chewing gum habit, I feel good about finding one that contains
xylitol instead of
artificial sweetener.
You can still enjoy sweet flavors on the Bulletproof Diet, including desserts, but use birch syrup (
xylitol from trees) or erythritol or stevia, not
artificial sweeteners.

Xylitol (does not elevate blood sugar) instead of
artificial sweeteners.
Bulletproof - approved
sweeteners, like
